 Critical pedagogy is an Educational Philosophy and approach that focuses on fostering critical thinking, Social justice and empowerment among learners.


  •  Critical pedagogy has its roots in critical theory which among the from the Frank Frut School.

  •  The Scholars of the school are Max Horkheimer, Theoder Adorno etc.

  • They examine and critic the social and political conditions of their time.(response to fascism, capitalism, mass culture)


  •  Paulo Freire is the key figure of critical pedagogy. He is a Brazilian educator and philosopher. His book Pedagogy of the oppressed introduced the concept of critical pedagogy and the book addressing social injustice and operation.
