Curriculum
The scope of Curriculum is broader and deeper for it comprehends every aspect of the educant's life, seeks to satisfy all his requirements and aspires to develop every aspects of personality.
Curriculum includes all learning experience that would lead the learner to the anticipated goals of education.
The curriculum includes various kinds of co curricular and extra curricular activities as well as various aspects of educational environment.
Curriculum is the plan for guiding the educational process. This plan considers four important components.
Functions served by curriculum
- Synthesis of subject and life
- Acquisition and strengthening of knowledge

- Development of Democratic values
- Satisfaction of educant's needs

- Harmony between individual and Society

Syllabus
Syllabus is a part of Curriculum. It is only verbal, book oriented and theoretical.
It is more specific, and it provides the details of study, the hierarchical order of presenting the content etc.
It forms the basis for writing text books, preparing teachers guide, and planning lessons.
