Scaffolding Technique

 Scaffolding Technique The Scaffolding Technique is a teaching strategy where the teacher provides temporary support or guidance to students while they are learning a new concept or skill — and gradually removes the support as the students become more capable and independent. It is based on the idea that students learn best when helped within their “zone of proximal development” (ZPD) — that is, when tasks are slightly above their current ability but achievable with guidance. Origin and Personalities Behind It The concept of scaffolding comes from Lev Vygotsky’s (1896–1934) Sociocultural Theory of Learning , which emphasized: Social interaction as essential for learning. The Z one of Proximal Development (ZPD) — the range between what a learner can do alone and what they can do with help.
